Folks,
I looking to migrate my home pfsense box from a 2U chassis (dual core xeon) to a small form factor machine because of power consumption and noise. The current rig is obviously extreme overkill for my home network that rarely sees 80-100Mbps of throughput.
I caught this little box by Zotac that has a low power Haswell variant in it with dual nics. Though they are realtek chipsets and not intel I'm sure they can handle my small needs.
I run snort on the box with a mild ruleset but 4GB of ram should be able to handle the load.
New egg has it for $139 (I am aware that I need to bring my own HDD, RAM)
