NATed Virtual IP - Web Host to pfSense Firewall Not Woking?

So the scenario here is this:

I have a VMWare host running ESXi 5. On this machine resides our web server, which was recently converted to a virtual machine from the original physical server. Initially, all went well with this. The virtual machine picked up the same IP address as the physical one (once the physical one was shut down), and it was accessible internally as well as externally.

A bit more on our setup: Our firewall is a standalone pfSense box running on OpenBSD. It's been going like a champ forever, and there have been no changes to any settings. The website ip address (192.168.xxx.xxx) is NATed to a virtual external IP address. This has always worked fine, and to my knowledge, nothing has changed. However, for the past few days I have been unable to ping any of these virtual IPs EXCEPT for the IP address of the VM Host (the actual physical host for all the VMs). I have that IP address NATed just to see if it would work, and indeed, I can access the default VMWare ESXi Welcome page.

I've heard there is some kind of error with VMs and pfSense + virtual IPs? Not sure where to go from here. I am on pfSense 2.0.
