I got an email over the weekend about pfSense firewall being "vmware ready". Looks like they are charging $99 for a virtual machine image to set up a VMWare compatiblefirewall.

It also looks like it's included in the "Gold Membership" of pfSense, which is also $99. I'm really interested in this, as we need to upgrade our firewall hardware, and we also just purchased an additional VMWare host to house our secondary DC and several small application VMs.
Anyone done firewall virtualization in the past on one of your primary hosts? How did it go? Any issues with it running on the same physical host as say, your web server or DC? Any security issues?
With how small the footprint of pfSense is, and how easy it is to manage a virtual machine versus a physical one, it seems like a very logical...
