I am building a new pfsense machine very soon, it's going to be second hand for a lot of the gear. I have two options right now about the router itself. I want to use either an HP DL 360 G7 or a Dell PowerEdge R210 for the machine plus a secondary ethernet NIC, as I need at least 6 (ideally 8) ports. I also have a Broadcom BRCM GbE 4P 5720-t that that I'd like to use with the R210 if I end up going for that. The router and seconday NIC are on a budget for under 150 and the system needs to be rack-mounted.
Does anyone know for definite:
-Does either the R210 or 360 G7 have a pfsense compatible intergrated NIC that works with relative stability?
-Is my existing Ethernet card (above mentioned Broadcom one) going to work with it when added on (or even in another system)?
Worst comes to the worst: Any recommendations for compatible quad NIC 1U...
